A sworn translator is an official translator who is authorised by the Foreign Office to translate official documents. Sworn translations can only be provided in hard copies, they need to be signed and stamped by the translator. However, the original documents can be passed on in any form (email, fax, etc.).
Yet, not always a sworn translation or interpretation is needed. Therefore, before requesting translation or interpretation services, make sure whether you really need a sworn translator’s «seal». There is a considerable difference in prices depending on whether it is sworn translation / interpretation or not.
